About

We believe that a true and comprehensive understanding of Islam would not be possible without careful recognition of the Prophetic Tradition and the Prophet's Household. And Allah is the Source of Strength.

The Butterfly Effect

" In chaos theory, associated with the work of meteoroligst and mathematician Edward Lorenz, the butterfly effect is that a small change to an initial state can lead to very large difference in the end result. Lorenz created a mathematical model of a weather system and realized that a very minute change in the initial condition would lead totally different weather outcomes. To translate this mathematics into english, it would imply that a butterfly flapping its wings would give rise to tornadoes. In philosophy it would imply that if Hitler was not born or the bullet that hit his leg in world war 1 would prove to be fatal, then world war 2 would not have happened the way it did.

Islam hints at the butterfly effect if you think over it. Quran [5:32] declares killing one soul is as if all humanity has been killed, and saving one life is as if all humanity has been saved.

Mawla Ali (AS) said that even if gold the size of a mountain of Uhud be given to him to unjustly remove the grain of food from the ants mouth, Ali (AS) would still not do it. Meaning the accountability and repercussions of such a small grain-ful act are also mountainous.

Do not underestimate your influence in any interaction you do with another being of Allah, human or animal. As highlighted in Envious Interactions, one kind word from you can change someone's career which can impact a lifestyle for the family for generations to come. One small act of harshness can also impact someone's motivation and can also take lives; people have killed themselves over cyber bullying etc

No wonder the Quran says in [99:7-8] that every man will see all good and all evil they have done, even if it is as insignificant as the weight of the atom. "
