About

We believe that a true and comprehensive understanding of Islam would not be possible without careful recognition of the Prophetic Tradition and the Prophet's Household. And Allah is the Source of Strength.

The Empty Vessel

" Every vessel in the known universe has a capacity which can fill it. As long as the vessel is empty and has space to accommodate, it will contain anything and everything. As long as the vessel is full, it will stop taking or accommodating even the substance which it had been created to contain.

An oil ship can contain 100,000 tons of oil. A small bottle can contain 1 liter of water. Once either is full, it can take no more, and once either is empty, it can take anything it can cater for.

Our stomach is a vessel. When empty, and deprived of food, it will force us to consume even that which has been made Haraam to satisfy its instinct. When full, it will not even accommodate a single bite of the most delicious meals ever made on this earth.

Similarly, our hearts and minds are a vessel. When they are empty, they will accommodate all passingby evil thoughts, plans to derail other people and their plans, gossips, envy, lust, desires. They will contain the worry of this world, and sorrow and grief, and fear of loss, and insecurity.

When they are full, they will be safe from such garbage.

The tick is to fill our heart and mind. The question is, whether we fill our hearts and mind with the worry of this world and other insignificant things which are temporary in nature or not in our control, or the fear of Allah and his remembrance and love of Prophet (SAW) and his Ahlulbayt (AS).

Just like an empty stomach will also be willing to eat a pig, a empty heart and mind will be willing to rent out its space to the filth of this world.

A heart which has the fear of Allah and a mind which understands the ways of Allah will have no time, desire or capacity to engage itself in vain talks and desires."
