About

We believe that a true and comprehensive understanding of Islam would not be possible without careful recognition of the Prophetic Tradition and the Prophet's Household. And Allah is the Source of Strength.

Fear of Allah, a Different Fear

" Fear is a mental state which man experiences, sometimes daily. People are afraid of insects, snakes, robbers, ghosts, death, heights.

All of these fears have one thing in common; an element of uncertainty. I am afraid of the dark, because I don't know what the dark holds. I am afraid of my dead grandfather's ghost, because in my knowledge, he has gone forever and can not return, but when i see his ghost, his return was against my knowledge and that sends a chill down the spine.

People are afraid of riding a roller coaster for the first time because they are not aware of what to expect from that ride. Once the ride completes, the fear subsides. Some people are even afraid to go to their new school or university on the first day because they do not know what to expect from the bullies. People are afraid of snakes because they do not know how snakes will react, they have misconceptions about them.

In a nutshell, fear will always have one of it's roots in pods of uncertainty, limited or lack of knowledge, and occurrence of the unexpected.

Fear of Allah is different from all other fears. Rasool (SAW), knowing all, knowing Allah, feared Allah. It is safe to say that fear of Allah is the only fear which comes with knowledge rather than ignorance and the unexpected.

As Imam Ali (AS) said, how strange is man, he runs away from what he fears, but when he fears Allah, he comes near him. He who knows Allah and doesn't fear him, does not know him at all.  "
