understanding of Islam would not be possible without careful recognition of the
Prophetic Tradition and the Prophet's Household. And Allah is the Source of Strength.
Time Relativity
" It is a good time to be alive in the 21st century, because we now understand scientifically and proven mathematically, the relativity of time. The rate at which time passes depends on the observer's frame of reference. According to Special Relativity, if you are traveling closer to the speed of light, time slows down for you but not for the stationary observer.
This manifestation of time shows that we humans do not fully understand the concept of time and of our 100,000 years of history, we have only understood time relativity for over a 100 years (when Einstein published it).
There is still alot that we do not understand. Let me explain. The Quran says in [70:4] that the angels ascend to Allah in a day which measures fifty thousand years for us. Also, the Quran says in [22:47] that a day with Allah is what we have as a 1000 years for us.
But there is something that we must understand. Allah has told us to be patient as one of the most important traits of those who will be successful and Allah has promised his reward to only reach those who are patient. Because patience requires operating on a different time scale and aligning ourselves with the timescale of Allah. The universe was made 14 billion years ago, the earth, 4 billion years, the dinosaurs had 200 million years. We want everything to be given to us within days, if not seconds. We must realize that whatever we sow, shall be reaped and it will be brought before us, if not in 5 minutes, then in 5 months and if not in 5 months, then 500 years. On a scale of time, specially when time is relative, our impatience deceives us.
If I wrong you as a result of which you slap me within 2 seconds, was your response timely? Well yes, because every action deserves a prompt reaction. But on a scale of continuous time, you could have slapped me even within 2 milliseconds, or 1000 times faster. On the time scale of milliseconds, the slap was 1000 times delayed. And so on so forth.
That is why when we pray for something, or we expect something, we become impatient because our perspective of time is distorted.
But Allah has made clear his time scale. Allah has promised in the Quran [16:61] that if Allah had destroyed men for their iniquity, He would not leave on the earth a single creature, but He respites them till an appointed time. "
