About

We believe that a true and comprehensive understanding of Islam would not be possible without careful recognition of the Prophetic Tradition and the Prophet's Household. And Allah is the Source of Strength.

Behavior Savior

" As muslims, we are taught faith is more important than actions. Maybe. Sins of a believer maybe forgiven and good deeds of a mushrik maybe wasted.

But what muslims are not taught is that having faith, and having the illusion of having faith are two different things. Why isnt our faith only an illusion for us if it is not reflected in behavior (and actions)?

If i am flying out tomorrow to watch a FIFA worldcup game in Qatar, that planning will need to be reflected in my behavior. I will apply for leaves from the office, arrange for travel and logistics, pack for the occasion. If my behavior does not reflect these preparations, it means i am convinced i am not flying out for the games and it is only an illusion, for if i was convinced i was flying out, it will be reflected in my behavior. My planning basis will testify that the future event is on my schedule and future timeline.

Is qayamat not on our schedule and future timeline? Is death not, let alone Qayamat? What is my planning basis if my behavior does not reflect fear of Allah and accountability?

If i am in a room, and someone tells me there is snake under my chair, if i panic, it will show i believed in what was told to me, if i sit calm and carelessly, it will show i do not believe in what was told to me.

My behavior reflects my belief. Quran highlights the importance of behavior also in 2:177 that it is not righteousness to turn your heads east and west (meaning performing of religious rights etc) but righteousness is to keep promises, spend in way of Allah, be patient in distress, guard against evil and so on so forth.

A man came to Imam Jaffar Sadiq (AS) to take advise from him (AS) before the man set out for preaching religion. The Imam (AS) told him not to use his tongue for preaching. Which meant the man must preach through his actions and persona. "
