We believe that a true and comprehensive
understanding of Islam would not be possible without careful recognition of the
Prophetic Tradition and the Prophet's Household. And Allah is the Source of Strength.
Forgetting Gratitude
" The devil has many tools up his sleeves, making us forgetful being one of them.
The devil made Musa (AS) and his servant forget about the fish (which came back to life) and would signal a meeting point with Khizr (AS) [Quran Surah 18 Ayah 63].
And the devil made the prison mate of Yusuf (AS) forget mentioning of him to the king which elongated the stay of Yusuf (AS) in the prison [Quran Surah 12 Ayah 43].
If Allah were to give us a pen and paper and asked us to write for ourselves what we had desired or wanted, we would probably miss out writing half (or more) blessings that we even have today, from the ability to blink till the strength of regulating our own bowel movement.
It is this devil's play that we have forgotten all the bounties we are blessed with today but we remember the smallest of things that we were deprived of or tested with and we spend our lives regretting over it.
When Ibn Ziyad asked Janab Zainab (AS) how did she find the way Allah treated her brother and family (an insult to the family of the Prophet (SAW)), he would have expected that Zainab (AS) will complaint and condemn and make hue and cry, but the arrested Zainab (AS) who saw her brothers and sons slaughtered did not complaint. The grand daughter of Prophet (SAW) did not forget her gratitude, and replied "I saw nothing but beauty". "
