We believe that a true and comprehensive
understanding of Islam would not be possible without careful recognition of the
Prophetic Tradition and the Prophet's Household. And Allah is the Source of Strength.
On Death's Watch 2
" In the original proposition On Death's Watch, we explored the concept of how certain and close death is to each and every one of us and no matter what we do at any age of our life, we are never ready for it.
Ask anyone when they want to die, everyone would ask for a 100 years more. But the reality is right out there.
You visit a graveyard at any age, and you will find a grave younger to yourself. If you visited when you were 1 year old, you would find graves of newborns, if you were 10 years old when you visit the grave yard, you will find numerous graves of people who could not live beyond 9 years, and you visit graveyard when you are 30 year old, there will be thousands of graves of men and women who died in their 20s.
Numerous Prophets were martyred before they crossed their 30s, numerous Imams of the Ahlulbayt (AS) were martyred before they could reach 30. Our commander in chief Mawla Abbas (AS) achieved martyrdom in his early 30s as well. Janab Zahra (AS) was martyred before she reached 20 and Most of the children of Banu Hashim were martyred in Kerbala in their teenage.
You and I have outlived millions of people (if not billions), people much higher in station with Allah, much superior in all aspects of creation.
What is then our life worth, each living day worth, each opportunity of breath worth? If each day of our life is like a fiscal bonus, if death is like retirement and if the afterlife is a pension fund, then any bonus not invested in the pension fund is as if wasting it and loosing it all in a gamble. With death so certain and close, we must decide if we want to be an investor or a gambler. "
